Default Full Tilt 10/20 SH: Small under PP to board OOP: Value bet the river?

Villain is calls down river bets after checked turns very light.

Full Tilt Poker Game #3773843279: Table Jensen (6 max) - $8/$16 - Limit Hold'em - 13:21:55 ET - 2007/10/06
Seat 3: Villain ($2,214.50)
Seat 4: Seat 4 ($277)
Seat 5: Seat 5 ($316)
Seat 6: magicmcq ($1,479.50)
Seat 5 posts the small blind of $4
magicmcq posts the big blind of $8
The button is in seat #4

*** HOLE CARDS ***

Dealt to magicmcq [4s 4h]
Villain raises to $16
Seat 4 folds
Seat 5 folds

magicmcq calls $8

*** FLOP *** [8s 8d Kh]
magicmcq checks
Villain bets $8
magicmcq calls $8

*** TURN *** [8s 8d Kh] [9s]
magicmcq checks
Villain checks

*** RIVER *** [8s 8d Kh 9s] [Jd]

Question 1) Is this too passive here on flop and turn?

Question 2) Is a river VB too thin here (b/f obv)?

I like the turn as a value check because you can get semi-bluffed off of the worst hand on that draw heavy turn.

I'm not betting the river though because I don't think you get called by enough worse A-highs or pkt pairs. check behind IMO.

<pre>Board: 8s 8d Kh 9s Jd
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 60.615% 60.34% 00.28% 108 0.50 { 4h4s }
Hand 1: 39.385% 39.11% 00.28% 70 0.50 { 77-22, AQs-ATs, A7s-A2s, QTs+, JTs, AQo-ATo, A7o-A4o, QTo+, JTo }</pre>

I'm not comfortable c/f'ing with so many worse hands out there. He could even think some of these are for value. I've rather b/f unless he's real tricky. Plus if he really does call very loose, it's probably for value.
