Laptop with 2 20" monitors

I currently have a 3 year old laptop Acer Travelmate, which doesn't have a DVI port, and only has 1 monitor port.

what items do I need to set up a dual monitor set up (+ the laptop monitor so that makes it 3)??

will the performance be decreased by the fact that I don't have a DVI port??

Performance won't be but video quality might be. Some people can see the difference between the two.

You are going to need an external video card dohickey. That should be enough to start searching.
