It took me over 6 years. And yes, it is very fun beating
up opponents from other dojos when they wander in. :-)

My current dojo is quite the black-belt assembly line...
but what can you do? I'm not running the place, and
the guy does have to make a living... handing out
belts is the de facto way to keep the students coming...

in the end though, you are as good as you train.
they have black belts there i'm in no hurry to spar,
and they have black belts there who i would spot
fighting with one hand....
