Default Blu Ray of HD DVD? Which will win out?

Personally, i think Blu Ray will win the market simply because of the huge success (i use the word success loosely, i'm simply referring to how many units sold) of the PS3.

Opinions?

Wasn't there a thread on here a few days ago about how the PS3 was a flop?

Blu-Ray allows 50 GB, HD-DVD allows 30 GB, doesn't it? I don't know much about them though, but I hope whichever has the largset storage capacity wins out...

Ps3's "success" is debatable. However, the fact that they will sell a ton of units is undebatable.

Blu Ray is clearly superior, however HD-DVD has gotten a small jump ahead so far so Blu Ray has to catch up. Basically the PS3 has to be a big success in order for Blu Ray to win.

Blu Ray would have won if they'd called it "Super HD-DVD."

Hardly. Sony may have really messed up with the PS3, time will tell. Saying it's "undebatable" that it will sell vast quantities is just silly. I'm not saying they won't, but there is quite obviously room for debate.

has anyone watched a HD or Blu Ray DVD? How do they compare to normal DVDs viewed on a HD upconverter?

hd-dvd players are much cheaper than bluray right now

if they can make them decent price and put them into lots of computers (MS is fully behind hd-dvd), then hd-dvd will get many more units in home; there are already 7+mil 360 owners who are potential buyers of the $200 hd-dvd add-on; only 1milish ps3 owners so far
