Id call just for the fact that you checked behind the turn and he still checked the river. why does he think your going to bet that river? looks like a bad bluff

This is a really weird spot. I haven't seen this line often enough to be sure of a range here, but my gut tells me that this is a call. I'd like it a ton more if the turn hadn't completed the staight.

Also, when you check the turn you miss value from 9T/AT/AJ/[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img][img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

i dont think a 38/18 is tryign to mincheck/raise bluff you on the river... the only question is if hes going to do this with a worse A. and there are really only 2 legitmate ones he could have - AT/AJ.

how did villain build his stack?

This is a tough spot, tbh it's v hard to put sb on a hand that you beat, and it's also hard to see it as a bluff. I think it's a fold but then whether I could fold it at the time is another matter.

I would bet the turn though.

Without a read that villain is tricky you have to fold this. His line makes no sense, but that doesn't make it a definite call.

Bet/fold turn is a better line imo.

Was it one of Tufat's videos that advocated going for a CR on the river when whiffing the CR on the turn?

I would bet the turn here most of the time. Lots of draws out there that are probably willing to pay, plus worse aces.

I think I'd call the river here. He is pretty aggressive, and you showed weakness on the turn. There is no reason for him to believe you really have that ace, so I can see him turning his missed draws or small pairs into a bluff.

A checkraise river bluff? Really? I'd say it was very unlikely.

These spots always seem to show me 2pair+. I'd probably fold it, even though villain has to have a worse hand only ~30% of the time.
