What books am I missing?
I posted this the other day and it was lost in what will someday be known as the Great Forum Changeover of 2007.
Most of my poker library has been assembled via gifts from family for holidays and birthdays, and they're always asking for lists, so I need to look at what I have and what I'm missing. I have: Super System - Doyle Brunson et al Super System 2 - Doyle Brunson et al Improve Your Poker - Bob Ciaffone Middle Limit Holdem Poker - Bob Ciaffone Poker: The Real Deal - Phil Gordon Little Green Book - Phil Gordon Little Blue Book - Phil Gordon Winning Low Limit Hold'em 3/e - Lee Jones Small Stakes Hold'em - Ed Miller / David Sklansky / Mason Malmuth Theory of Poker - David Sklansky NLHE: Theory & Practice - David Sklansky / Ed Miller Sklansky on Poker - David Sklansky 7 Card Stud for Advanced Players - David Sklanksy / Mason Malmuth / Ray Zee High-Low-Split Poker for Advanced Players - Ray Zee And my wish list has: Weighing the Odds in Hold'em Poker - King Yao The Mathematics of Poker - Bill Chen / Jerrod Ankenman The Poker Tournament Formula - Arnold Snyder Hold'em Poker for Advanced Players - David Sklansky / Mason Malmuth Harrington on Hold'em 1-3 - Dan Harrington / Bill Robertie Tournament Poker for Advanced Players - David Sklansky I did see a reply before the forum switched back recommending No Limit Texas Hold'em: A Complete Course - Angel Largay, which I'll add to the list. I'm way behind on my reading and I certainly don't need any more books right now, but it never hurts to look. Anything I'm missing that should be on this list? |

Re: What books am I missing?
The only books I could recommend that you don't already have are:
Real Poker II: The Play of Hands - Roy Cooke Winning In Tough Hold'em Games - Stoxtrader and Zobags Other than those two, your library is impressively complete. |

" series (PLO, PLHE, LHE), as well as the classic PL/NL Poker by Ciaffone & Reuben. For tourneys, you are missing Kill Phil, Ace on the River and Eric Lindgren's book Making the Final Table. You are missing the Secrets of PLO book by Slotboom and Omaha Holdem Poker by Ciaffone. You are missing Caro's Book of Tells. You are missing Getting Started in Holdem, which is a better introductory book than WLLHE-3rd which you do have. You are missing some Omaha-HiLo texts if you have any interest in that game. In addition to the others already mentioned in this thread. Then of course, we have lots of books upcoming. The Professional NL Holdem Series by Flynn, Mehta and Miller. Harrington is coming out with a 2 or 3 volume text on NL Cash game play. Plus, Zee and Fromm have a book coming. And I believe Mason said he had a manuscript on Sit & Go's submitted that was very good. Then there's the Barry Tanenbaum books. So, lots of reading to do. |

Thanks for all the good recommendations. Is "Kill Phil" worth it? I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on that one.

Real Poker II: The Play of Hands - Roy Cooke
Inside the Poker Mind Poker Essays 1-3 Gary Carson's book (Complete Book of Hold Em Poker?) is interesting and provocative, though flat wrong in many parts. (Plus, Carson is something of a d-bag, himself, but I digress) |
