I think folding is good here. I don't think flat calling to hit a set is all bad given its 300 to call into a 1700 pot. I don't think you want to push given you may get called by 2 or more people given the amount of there stack they already put into the pot and 88 isn't going to play very well 3 or 4 handed.

I might well call here. t300 to call and the pot is t1700. Plus it should be incredibly easy to get all-in if you flop a set.

But folding is certainly reasonable too, and if one of those callers had folded, I'd fold.

I think you guys misread the HH? We're in BB here and it's only 300 more...the pot is huge, I never fold this here, you don't even need to win that much to make up for the implied odds, and you will definetely be able to CRAI on an 8 flop. Call.
