[/ QUOTE ] cheap, standard stuff is always about the same price in areas w/ low cost of living. however going out for drinks and a decent dinner for example is significantly cheaper. it's been years ago but going out in north dakota most bars sold pints for $2.25. first time i went i thought it was a ridiculously cheap happy hour price and then i found out it was the going rate for beer.

i would tell your supervisor (politely but firmly) that you understand you screwed up, that you understand the need for extending the probationary period, but that you're not able to continue the job as an hourly employee instead of a salaried one.
be respectful and there's a good chance you can compromise. and if not....[censored]...it's only $22k/year. you can find something else as good or better. jon
