Default NL25 - flopped bottom set on a draw heavy board

MP is a TAG and is runnig 22/6/1.8 over 900 hands.
BTN is 33/25/1.9 over 130 hands.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $24.30
BB: $80.10
UTG: $6.65
MP: $44.25
Hero (CO): $31.20
BTN: $53.70

Preflop: Hero is dealt 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25, BTN raises to $1.50, 2 folds, MP calls $1.25, Hero calls $1.25

Flop: ($4.85) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players)
MP checks, Hero bets $1.75, BTN raises to $5.00, MP raises all-in to $42.75, Hero ?

Seems like MP hit the board very heavy. Not the type of player who calls with 24 OOP. I think he'd re-raised with Aces before the flop. So the only hand that makes sense here is 55. But could also be a combo draw.
And there is still the BTN behind who reraised.
So how do we play this? Easy fold? Or call and take the variance?

Why always raise small PPs preflop? Don't you think its ok to just limp in behind with it? If I get reraised I have to lay them down. I think how the pot developed preflop is just fine for 33.

You should definitely be raising pre-flop. You have a significant leak in your game if you do not understand why. Please read this post: 6 Max fundamentals for SSNL players. It will help you understand this basic concept along with several other gems.

As far as the rest of the hand, I am happy to get all-in on this flop.

pf is fine that would be my standard play with one caller - raise is ok too once in a while though

And yeah - MP seems very strong here. He could have A5s or A3 s though, as well as something like Ax[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]... pretty easy call imo

most of the time i raise small PP's preflop. you were acting before BTN so you would have been first aggressor. if he 3bets, then you can shrink his range, if he flat calls, you have a completely different range. since you didnt raise before him, he could be running AA and have you dominated, but now you dont know.

although, sometimes i do limp behind with the small PP's as well. 22-55 mostly. i dont do it a ton. if i am getting callers all day long i tend to slow down with them a little because im not good at hitting sets on the flop. if the villians are weak to my raises, i raise them everytime to pick up the blinds.

I don't agree. It depends. Of course I often raise Small PPs in CO/BTN. Always, if it's folded to me. But if someone opens limping before me i think its just fine too limp in behind. If I get re-raised its too expensive to call just for set value.
And yes I called in this case. But when I tried to put villain on a hand, 55 was the only hand that made sense to me. Because I know him as a player, that doesn't play draws that agressive and who would have had re-raised a stronger hand preflop. I know that set vs. overset is variance. And I played this hand only for a flop like this.
But I thougt there must be a spot where you can consider to just lay down a hand like this because you have a pretty sure feeling that you are beaten.
Don't you guys ever consider to lay down a flopped set?

Nope, in the same way that I wouldn't fold a flopped K flush because my Op might have the flopped A flush
