Default Re: Stox or Cardrunners for Micro NL?

anyone know what C/R membership and sign up rates will be in 2008?

Stoxx said the rates will raise
And CR says so as well, only I cant find the details of the 2008 CR rates.

This could be critical for the ppl w/ limited money.

No offense LG, but nothing about that grinderschool website looks very credible. Not only is there no content as E9 mentioned, the website looks cheap and I have no idea who those instructors are. Closed forums and no videos?

They wrote their 1st article in late August so they've been there a little while. They have 18 members and are still "under construction." They will let you sign up and pay if you want, that's nice of them.

This looks like a few unqualified guys trying to make an easy buck. Can you tell us anything about those instructors that contacted you?

Yea, I don't want to mention any more URL's but the instructors and myself are members at one of the bigger forums on the internet not named 2+2/P5's/CR's (FTR if you have heard about it)

Anyways, from what I was just told the site is currently trying to build a larger video library at this time and get the forums up and running. I'm sure at first CR/PXF/Stox had a smaller library and member-base, and that's what these guys are going through right now. I probably shouldn't even have mentioned it, seeing how I'm not a part of it and really can't answer most of your questions.

As for the instructors, I believe you can read about them and watch their existing videos and that should be a good way to base your opinion of them. I know them to be good winning players at all stakes.

Thanks limit but I will talk for our site. Obviously Stox is in control of this forum and they claim we are after "a quick buck", but they are the ones deleting posts where I invited a naysayer to visit and give an opinion. Who's site is it then that is in it for the money, Stox or us? This isn't a forum, it's a sales pitch for stox or CR (Where I am a member), and this will be proven when they delete this post too.

The forum is for Coaching/Training discussions and specifically discussions as to how poker coaching videos can be used to help one improve their game.

1) No shills. No abuse. The forum is sponsored by Stoxpoker.com and we don't want the forum to be used to spam for ANY online training sites. You will also never hear us saying anything negative about another training site but we won't hesitate to acknowledge other excellent training sites.

Bobo Fett, I diplomatically handled several posts asking for anyone that bashed the site to look again. I asked that they allow me to at least speak well of our sites progress and they deleted three posts in a row. This thread contains just some negative feedback about a site that is not even finished, nor charging money yet. How would you go about getting across a point to defend the only thread about your site that actaully trashes everything you have done so far, and for the wrong reasons. They have questioned our motives and qualifications, without allowing me to answer.

I feel bad for the low stakes player that cannot find an alternative to $25++ a month to watch videos and learn from better players. I think that asking players with such limited resources to pay that is unnecessary.

Well unfortunately, your potential customers can't see those deleted posts...but you don't come across too well in the ones we can see.

It sounds like perhaps you have some issues you might want to discuss with the mod(s) via PM rather than airing them here in the forum. Just my $0.02.

Just for the record grinder_jyms,

I wasn't out to bash you or your site and I'm still not, but I do stand by my comments. I said it doesn't look credible and has virtually no content, which is still the case (although at least a couple vids are up and you're giving people free access instead of charging for the time being).

In any case, it was you guys who decided to launch your site in the state it was in and then offer it to paying subscribers. Then you left it under construction for so long... now you're upset that people make these criticisms? I don't think they're unfair at all.

Anyway, to answer the OP, I like CR for a newer player in the micros because they have a good backlog of vids and I like their NLHE content better (for LHE I prefer Stox). I especially thought brystmar's SSNL series was a very good approach to 6-max in the micros and will help a lot of players.

Really though, both of these sites do well teaching fundamentals during even higher games that either site would benefit someone in the micros.
