I always hit Bootlegger's Bistro, a couple miles south of Mandalay on the strip (off the strip by that point). Gi-normous portions of fantastic Italian in a great atmosphere.

Battista's is about atmosphere. You go to see all the pictures on the wall and to visit the men's room and see the big picture on the wall and little story about the airport. You think of what you can tell the 90yo accordian player who visits every table and creates a short song customized just for you to keep him from staying at YOUR table. And yeah, by the way you can get a meal with all-you-can-drink box wine for $18. But you won't be writing home about how great the food was.

Il Mulino in the forum shoppes is one of the best italian restaurants in the city. The view from the patio after dark is also one of the best in the city.

Off the strip, Piero's over by The Hilton is good for an old school experience. I agree about Battista's you are better off at about 100 other places regardless of price.

I was there a few weeks ago when I was in Vegas. My Best Friend was a LIPSTour Champion, and she had won her seat into the championship, and they held their champions dinner there (she brought me along as her guest).

I found the food good to eat, and one things for sure, with 7 courses, you won't go away hungry!
