Calling w/ATC when getting 2 to 1.
Harrington's book says we should call w/ATC's getting 2 to 1 pot odds in the BB. I ran some calculations in SNGPT's and it strongly disagrees with this. Does this rule apply more to MTT's where you aren't playing short stack poker? In sng's losing a few BB's can really make your life tougher? What do you guys think?

Well, it depends. If calling and losing wouldn't put you in a bad shape, then yeah, why not?

IMO it's very stack dependent, agreed, if calling isn't horribly -$EV for me I'll do it every day of the week. It may also prevent people from pushing quite as light into you in later stages, don't think there's really metagame at my level though

[...]if calling isn't horribly -$EV for me I'll do it every day of the week [/ QUOTE ] This sentence makes no sense what so ever... If the call is -EV you should fold. Getting 2-1 on your money means very little in regards to calling or folding. There are exceptions, but those are few and far apart. |

Re: Calling w/ATC when getting 2 to 1.
I'm often in the situation, that I'm sitting in the BB with a 5BB stack and a 3BB smallie is going allin .. if I call with trash I'm bad crippled after is lose .. so i fold unless i have any ace, king, q6+, jt, any pair.
