Default 200NL-6max---KQ makes top pair

Villian is 38/26 and reraises preflop a lot. I have 225 and he covers.

I raise KQo in the cutoff to 8. Villian reraises out of the BB to 25. I considered 4betting him as a bluff, but I thought he would call liberally with anything he reraised with. I think my hand is too good to fold against him however, so I elect to call.

Flop is Q87r. He bets $30 into the $50 and I call.

Turn is a 7, bringing a club draw. He bets $62 into $110 and I shove.

How do you like it, and how would you play it>

Thanks,
Jason

Does his turn bet look too much like a milk bet? Should I just fold preflop?

yeah I fold this preflop b/c KQ is an easily dominated hand and it sucks to play those kinds of hands oop.
do you really think villain is ever going to call your push w/ worse hands?

vs this villain KQ is the nuts.

Also dont raise turn, that turns your hand into a bluff. Just call him down.

If you call PF and you hit TP, you need to go all-in (Brian Townsend, in a CR video have had the same situation : he raised KQs OTB, BB reraised him, he called and hit TP, and try the best way to put all the money in the middle).

So, when you call PF vs this guy, you never fold if you hit TP on a safe board. It's a safe board, so...
I probably call down, too : he never fold a better hand, and can bluff with some garbage...

But I probably fold PF, KQo is so easily dominated...

i think it is fine, you are in position, and your hand is ahead of his range if he 3bets a tonne. i go broke here against this villain. i think i would rather raise the flop though

after you call the turn, he has about ~110 left in a ~230 pot. Do you think he will ever fire the river with a worse hand? Are you ever folding?

i can't see why you would want to call him down. he's never bluffing the river. raise the turn for protection.

OP, i think you played the hand fine. against a frequent 3bettor KQ is a good hand to take a stand. also, when you hit TP you're pot committed obv.

As an aside, to those who said fold PF: please outline your strategy for combating a 3 bettor such as the one described in the OP. you can't always wait for AA...
