UTG with 77
The table is slightly loose preflop, but pretty loose aggressive postflop. It's Paradise, so theres uncapped HU betting.
The villain in this hand limps every hand, and is loose passive postflop. He has not raised once so far. *** Preflop *** : Hero is UTG with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero calls 1.00, 1 fold, MP1 calls 1.00, 4 folds, Villain completes, BB checks *** Flop *** : [10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] Villain checks BB checks Hero bets 1.00 MP1 folds Villain calls 1.00 BB folds *** Turn *** : [10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] [3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]] Villain checks Hero fires again? ----- I am pretty sure I got multiple streets wrong here. Re: UTG with 77
preflop is fine tho raise/call liek 5/95, flop is ok tho c/f is fine too and probably slightly better

Re: UTG with 77
I think you got everything right and should keep on betting. You said you haven't seen him raise, so in the rare event that he raises, you have to go out, of course. Keep on betting on the river when a non-scary card arrives.

Re: UTG with 77
Sweet, this seems pretty straightforward. I did bet, and he called. Turn brought 9 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], and he checked, and I checked behind(?). He turned over 88, of course. Expert play there sir.
The first two streets are what I was most interested about. Preflop, how many players do I need limp behind to make this call profitable? SSHE suggests 4 or 5 I think, but do I stick strictly to this in online 1/2 FR games? I like flopping sets. Re 5/95 raise:call, that 5% you raise would suit tighter games, right? Would you ever think about folding 77 UTG? Are there situations in typical online games where I should fold 77 UTG? I assume the more tighter and more likely we are to get 3bet, the more we should fold? On the flop, My initial feeling was to check/fold, but I'm trying to open up a bit so I bet it. In retrospect probably better to take the check/fold option in this instance because we have less fold equity. Just wondering if my logic behind these decisions is screwy or if I'm thinking properly (Can you tell I'm slipping into a downswing?) thx |

Re: UTG with 77
err perhaps others opinions would be good here as its been a while since i hit up FRmL, but i would have thought we should never be open folding 77 UTG.
5/95 refers to a mixed strategy for the current table positions, it implies a complete randomisation such that 1/20 times we are raising, and 19/20 we are flat calling (actually at ML 5% is probly too high) so the bit about being more suitable for tight games really apply. at tighter/looser games your mixed strategy may shift to a higher raise %, maybe say 10/90, but it should still be completely random. |

:g:
PF and flop are fine. I like the flop bet. Fire again on the turn, and reevaluate river play c/c or b/f depending on the board. |
