wait, I'm kind of confused. I thought the "movie" was just the first 2 hours of the series.

[/ QUOTE ]

the movie takes place after the TV show ends

Yeah it's pretty sad that we will never see any more Firefly.

After Serenity's relatively poor reception Whedon seems to have moved almost exclusively into comics. This seems like a waste of his time. I'm sure the comics are very good indeed but this is time he could be using making more awesome TV for us.

For those of you who watched the movie first, what was your initial impression of the movie? Good/bad/mediocre?

I did the smart thing and watched the TV series first and I think that made me appreciate what they did with the movie a bit more.

[/ QUOTE ]

I thought the movie was good but not great, which is why I was in no rush to see the series.

Really great show and I had the same sense of sadness. Its fortunate that its one of those you can watch again and again.

Its my standard for long plane rides actually.

Definitely a travesty. I happened to catch Firefly on SciFi, bought the discs, then saw the movie. I managed to get both my nephews hooked and into the theater too. Sigh.

Now I'm sad again.

Like usual it was advertised and handled horribly by tv. It should still be airing new ep's today .

[/ QUOTE ]

Fox didn't even show the first episode frist..they showed all the epsidoes out of order n crap.

This plus the retarded call by the WB to cancel Angel when it was having one of its best seasons yet is why network execs are retards.
