Jason Giambi = will he or not
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html
First the "apology", then chiding MLB for letting the steroids scandal happen. Now he will probably be suspended if he doesnt co-operate with the steroid investigation. I personally hope he talks and blows this wide open. It's the only way the sport will get cleaned up without government interference. He would be the first and only player, active or retired, to co-operate. If the gov't has to take over it will damage the sport for years to come. The end result may be a positive thing but I personally dont want to have to read about this crap for the next 5 years while wondering if who cheated and who didnt. |

Like the government can clean up anything. [/ QUOTE ] And the MLB can??? I dont think so with the way they've been burying thier heads in the sand on the roid issue. If the dont the gov't will get involved, more than they have already. Not saying I want it to happen, but it will happen. That's not a good thing. |

Re: Jason Giambi = will he or not
I believe Giambi was involved with Bonds and his buddies at Balco; if Giambi talks, one imagines it will be bad for Bonds.

[/ QUOTE ] Not only Bonds but all of baseball, even the ones who never did roids. *edit to add*> It's the only hope MLB has to salvage it's reputation, by self policing the problem. But this controversy does give me a better appreciation of the pre-roid era players. Especially the marginal Hall of Famer candidates and record holders. |

On what grounds can Selig suspend Giambi? |

This [censored] is so stale. Can we end this laughable "steroid era" bull now? Seriously.

Re: Jason Giambi = will he or not
No effing way Giambi rolls over. I think the most Selig can do is suspend him for 50 games and I'm not ever sure about that. If he squeals he will be a pariah for the rest of his career.
BTW - I still don't understand the big deal about Giambi's comments. He was pretty much spot on. |

Re: Jason Giambi = will he or not
I don't believe Selig will suspend Giambi for not talking, but I also hope Giambi spills the beans. Did you read Canseco's book a few years ago? Pretty much spot on.
