Missing value . . .
Villian is tight and not very good. No doubt he has an A. Should I have pushed this river as he is probably gonna call to get a split pot?

Re: Missing value . . .
I would probably raise the flop. Otherwise it looks good.

Re: Missing value . . .
You could make an argument for raising that flop, but if you were trying to trap some dead money from sb and bb then I like the call. Just depends on his read of sb and bb.
Turn and river are fine. |

Re: Missing value . . .
I think that you might've bet a little too much on the river. I'd of probably bet around 20 if I really wanted the call, which I would here.

Re: Missing value . . .
Raising on a flop that's this dry screams "A or set." I think that doing so will not only fold out the two who are acting after you, but will probably fold out Villain as well.
By slow playing this, you end up with a lot more money in the pot at showdown. |

Re: Missing value . . .
Kyrie,
I would raise that flop with AK, AQ, A8, 88, 77, 87, 56, or 9T. Villain is going to have to have a good second best to pay me off, but there is no way I am pigeonholed to a set here. Now if hero's image is that of a nut peddler than he has to try the slow play. I still find that fast playing still gets you called most of time because no one believes you. |

[ QUOTE ] How did you lose value? [/ QUOTE ] I'm thinking a push gets called here- you don't think? [/ QUOTE ] What hand will call a push? A decent player will lay down AK to a push, but probably call that pot sized bet on the river. You need villain to have a 6 (preferably A6) to call a push. The fact that villain is checking tells you he has two pair. You have to size your bet according to villain's holding if you want a call. |
