LO.50/1 How horrible is the post flop play?
My usual game is PLO, but I play PLO8 every once in a while too. Party gave me a free $40, so I thought I'd try some limit and limit omaha would give me a nose bleed. My only background in LO8 is some micro tourney buyins.
Party Poker Limit Omaha Ring game Limit: $0.50/$1 7 players Converter Stack sizes: Hero: $39.02 UTG+1: $42.75 MP1: $43.50 CO: $49.59 Button: $13.13 SB: $15.87 BB: $13.25 Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB calls. Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (0SB, 5 players) SB bets, BB calls, Hero calls, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls. Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2BB, 4 players) SB bets, BB folds, Hero calls, MP1 calls. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2BB, 3 players) SB checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, SB calls. Results: Final pot: 2BB I'm confident with the pf raise. On the flop, I thought I could be ahead, but I didn't want to raise and knock others out when I might be drawing dead to the high. |

Re: LO.50/1 How horrible is the post flop play?
If the table is very loose-passive (LOL) I like a call pf here
a good amount of time. SB bets into the pf raiser and caller; reads would help-does he do this with the nut lo draw or just Axxx that may dominate you? Flop is a good call. I often check behind on this river, but if even I vaguely suspect SB was indeed on a naked lo, I like the river value bet. -ZEN |

Thanks for the reply.
Really no reads. I was at the table for only about a round. |

I may bet the flop. You have nut low draw, and both 77 and A7 aren't likely (although possible).

Nice post. What range do you put SB on, particularly on the turn,
that makes your read "so obvious"? -ZEN |

Nice post. What range do you put SB on, particularly on the turn, that makes your read "so obvious"? -ZEN [/ QUOTE ] After betting the whole was, why would anyone check the river with Aces Full of sevens or kings when a 2 comes off? I guess I could see some tightwad checking A7 not wanting to escalate in case someone was "slowplaying" AK, but I never would. And neither would most players. His most likely hands given the river check are 77xx and trip aces. And, even if he was checking A7 rather than sevens full or trip aces, you are almost certainly good for at least low. How often is someone drawing to a third nut low on this board? It's indeed possible that you are beat both ways, but it's very unlikely. There is a very good chance that you are ahead both ways, and you will get called by a bunch of worse hands in each direction by opponents hoping to squeeze out half the pot. This is an easy value bet. |
