Default JJ in what looks like a steal (5/10)

hey all... first off, wanted to say I've been lurking here for a while and 2+2 has dramatically improved my game, for which I'm greatly appreciative. the hard work put in by the best posters here is gold... so I've resolved to start posting and commenting more. a start:

villain is lag over small sample.

two questions: 1) is preflop a cap? 2) as played, is flop a raise/fold?

Easy cap preflop IMO. As played, I raise the flop and fold to a 3-bet. Turn card is just awful, but if villain just called my flop raise, I'd bet/fold the turn and check through the river. I'd also fold to a river donk.

A lag 3 betting a CO open raise will be raising superlight. Very easy cap preflop.

As played, since no cap I'd raise the flop and keep betting through the river, assuming no A falling. Blind steals play way different than regular hands. He'll be calling down light here, maybe even with AQ UI.

With the A falling on the turn however, I would now expect to rarely have the best hand and fold.

Cap preflop, and bet the flop.

If he still leads, I'm raising given the LAG read.. but probably folding to a three bet. (if we had the Jc then it'd be different)

I am assuming you mean hes super LAGgy preflop and postflop.

Cap preflop and raise the flop. Don't put him on the K just yet.

yeah, missed the preflop cap, which I see is standard. hand plays differently thereafter.

I'm never folding a decent pair versus a lag in a blind battle, A-high is often enough to scoop the pot. But you need a read on how laggy he is. I see lags 3-betting with 22+, 78s+...

I've read the other responses, and I'm really surprised.

First, as played, we don't have any idea where we are in this hand, and we have a suspicion that the villian is LAG. I feel like this is a WA/WB situation, and I'm going to call him down, and hope that he shows me pocket 8s. If an eight shows up on the river, I'm hoping he has 9s or maybe JTs.

I don't know how the action is going to go, after a cap, but if bet into on the flop, I'll call it down. If If it goes check/bet/call on the flop, I think I might check behind on the turn, and make sure that my six outer gets to the river, and call any bet on the river.

I think I sleep better if I get to showdown headsup with a big pair.

1) preflop: cap, if bet into on flop call and fold turn UI
2) as played raise and if 3-bet call and fold turn UI

Cap preflop, raise the flop. If he's still firing at that point it's a lot easier to lay it down, unless he's a total maniac. I think simply calling down from the flop is a mistake, because a LAGy villain will play QJ, 89, or two clubs this way.
