Moving up limits to chase losses, first trouble hand

So i move up in limits to 25/50c after being down a bit in the 10/25c on pokerroom. I go to a 3 handed table and the first hand comes like this. i dont have the hh right here but i remember pretty well it went like this:

BB folds, SB limps, I raise to 2 preflop from BB with K8 offsuit, SB thinks and calls. Effective stacks 50$.
Flop: 8,5,2 rainbow
SB instabets 4, i think and call
turn: 10, SB overbets pot 15, i think and call after some consideration, the 10 put some kind of flush draw on the board.

ffsuit 6, SB moves all in for around 30 more, what do you do here?

my thought was, that he was pretty weak preflop and his instabet on the flop was little suspicious too, 52 would be possible, maybe he made 2 pair with the 10. overall i can only beat a bluff, but his line just represents nothing but highly unlikely hands. what would u suggest here? sry for the possibly bad language. FWIW - Don't move up to chase losses, you're usually not in the right mindset and will play a lot different than your normal game.

For this hand, I raise his flop bet to around 12 and fold to any further resistance.

i think i call flop and fold to any other big bet, it might be a bit passive but i think he slows down with mediocre hands we beat but keeps betting with monsters.

And chasing isnt good obv [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

IMO the way to play this hand - is to raise the flop to $14, If he comes over the top of that fold, if he calls don't put any more money in. Oh, and don't raise K8 pre flop if you're in a game that you are not used to - if you are going to move up, when chasing loses (and this is not recommended) you should play tighter than tight - remember why you are there, you are not there to spunk more money, you are there to make a some money back.

Best way to play this hand is a preflop fold or check in the BB

hmm i think i m ahead of his limping range and i have position on him for the rest of the hand so why not raise preflop? in hindsight i agree it would probably have been best to raise the flop, which makes the hand easier to play and doesnt give him the opportunity to draw out on me. i just thought the probability was high he was bluffing the flop or probably betting a worse 8 because i think he would have to take a bit more time to figure out what to do if he had indeed flopped two pair or a pretty unlikely set.

i know its a bad idea to chase losses, but i got bored at the 25c tables and decided 1 short handed table at 50c would be more fun and obviously i could get the money back quicker [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img], i ll definitely try to avoid it in the future though.

lol I thought he had AA or something. Your turn call is a huge overcall, it would be terrible 6 handed but 3 handed it is definitely less so. Also, top pair is the nuts at pokerroom.
