nl200 JJ vs donk bet into 4 way pot.
ok I only have 7 hands with villain so literally no reads to go on. I pick up JJ on the button after 3 limpers. I probably shoulda made it more to go. Onto the hand:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) CO ($203.50) Hero ($225.55) SB ($264.80) BB ($200) UTG ($203.60) UTG+1 ($153.50) MP1 ($200) MP2 ($123.05) Preflop: Hero is Button with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $2, 1 fold, MP2 calls $2, CO calls $2, Hero raises to $10, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls $8, MP2 calls $8, CO calls $8. Flop: ($43) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players) UTG+1 checks, MP2 checks, CO bets $14, Hero calls $14, UTG+1 folds, MP2 folds. Ok so I just called here which I hardly ever do. In retrospect raising was probably way better. At the time I didn't think he would lead a set there as most players go to autocheck flop mode with a set, and I figured I might as well let him donk off more money if I am ahead as he will put me on a missed AK trying to catch. Turn: ($71) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) CO bets $32, Hero raises to $84 Ok so not a bad turn card but I'm now kicking myself for not raising flop. If villain pushes here are you guys instafolding? I've now committed a lot to the pot. |

Re: nl200 JJ vs donk bet into 4 way pot.
I make it 14 Preflop. I might call flop, call turn, call river. I def don't raise this turn, you think he is calling you with A9? I really don't like it cause you only have 90$ left, but the only thing you beat is a villian who overvalues A9 or something. He is never bluffing if he shoves over.

Think to yourself, what does this turn raise accomplish?

Think to yourself, what does this turn raise accomplish? [/ QUOTE ] True, but I didn't want to turn into a calling station here although maybe that would be best in this situation (minimize losses when behind, not scare off worse hands when ahead)? The problem is there are a ton of bad river cards that can come, but I guess I could safely fold to a strong river bet in that situation. If I just call his turn bet and the board bricks on the river what is your plan? Obv I can call a smaller bet but what about 2/3 pot? |

Re: nl200 JJ vs donk bet into 4 way pot.
Preflop raise to $14.
On the flop I make it ~$50. As played, I call the turn to just keep letting him hang himself if we're behind. Though now there are a lot of draws... I guess I'm a little torn. Meh, you're in position so yeah, I'd call and re-eval the river. As played, if he shoves over your raise I think you have to drop. |

Re: nl200 JJ vs donk bet into 4 way pot.
I would take the most passive line possible in the hand and call call and reevaluate the river, u think this guy is gonna donk into 4 people then bet twice big into the pfr /w worse than 2 pairs, even semibluff hands now have pairs and showdown value.

His flop bet size really threw me off too. $14 into a $43 pot?

Re: nl200 JJ vs donk bet into 4 way pot.
usually extreme weakness or extreme strength , it looks like he wants to keep the pot small with a worse hand so id let him do it and just call down.

I would take the most passive line possible [/ QUOTE ] So you call the flop and the turn. Are we ahead? If you raise flop you spend as much as your line and know exactly where you are. |
