Why would Gold need to be staked? Also Doyle probaly has little respect for Gold so why stake him? I sometimes wonder if Gold will blow his nice retirement pile that he won.

Anyone think that in the first hand, the reason why Antonio can call Sammy's exact hand (A9) is because he saw his cards?
Cause later Benyamine told him that he could see them when he picked them up and he's on the other side of Sammy.

Hollywade has probably never even reached 400bb before in his life, or if he has he instantly left and told all his friends how much he pwns poker.

[/ QUOTE ]

What does 400bb mean?

Later when Jamie tells Doyle what he had, Doyle gets steamed up and costs me money with a play he wouldn't ordinarily make.

Awesome! Love the tease, Barry.

A couple observations...

1: When Doyle asked Jamie if he would show him his hand, I thought he was rope-a-doping him. I was surprised he folded, but not shocked.

I just think ultimately, Doyle didn't want to lose a 500K pot to Jamie there (especially drawing dead) and have to listen to it for the rest of his life, which he surely would have.

2: It seems Jamie Gold has finally realized that absolutely no one respects his game and that will probably never change. Therefore, Jamie's goal now, as he's stated ad nauseam, is to be 'the best bluffer ever', which will now be his mantra until he finally loses all his money, which he will eventually do.

On a side: Being a picky little bitch, I can't stand Gold's new horrible habit of lip-smacking/chewing-air thing that he does when people bet at him and he is figuring an amount to raise back.

"12,000..."
*lip-smack* *chew air* *chew air*
"I raise..."

Can't wait until next week...

What has not been mentioned here so far is that he doesn't seem to analyse Doyle's possible holdings very much. The chance that Doyle has a made flush as well is not on his mind at all.

[/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely. I doubt it ever occurred to Gold that Doyle made a flush too. I bet he would have been floored when he saw Doyle's hand had there been a showdown. He'll probably be pretty shocked when he sees it on TV.

You play 1-2 nl with a $200 max buyin at best.

[/ QUOTE ]

Oh, you're right. My bad. Only people that have played in games with a 500k minimum buy-in should be allowed to talk about what goes on in such games. Right? So that leaves you in, right high roller?

P.S. Also, I can't imagine Jamie has made a ton more $$$ since his WSOP win, and if we go with him getting ~4 million from it, which is generous, is he REALLY dumb enough to buy in for 15%+ of his net worth?

[/ QUOTE ]

Word is he was pretty rich before his WSOP score.

[/ QUOTE ]

If so, why did he work so hard to get Bodog to buy him in?

To HSP? I didn't hear this, but are you asking why he didn't want a freeroll?
