Re: $1.5K 6max TP hand
The thing about shoving in this spot is that he essentially gets to bluff 2500 here but value bet 9k. I mean.. that's true of a lot of spots where you've got a PSB or less left, but it's especially important here because you've got such a middle strength hand (shoving's more of a bluff than a value bet, but not by a huge amount) and just because he's putting in so little to charge you so much.
So, shoving's really out. Next option is call. If you were in position and everything else somehow managed to stay the same, you could call because then you'd put him in a [censored] spot on the turn with a bluff. But since he's in position, he's gonna get his bluffing/value betting frequency pretty close to right, and he'll check back and call hands that beat you often enough that you can't even get slim value on most rivers after he checks back. That's a really [censored] spot, so you kind of have to fold even though your hand's pretty strong and his bluffing frequency (or like the average bluffing frequency of guys with the info we know about this guy) is kinda high. |

Re: $1.5K 6max TP hand
and i think the reason this spot sort of annoyed me at the time as i think SO MANY villians in these things are capable of (and even do it as a standard line) essentially bluff-raising with 55-99 here because they "put you on AK" and "dont want you to catch your overs." so i hate bet/folding with what is often the best hand, but i can see how being put in a potentially [censored] turn spot is a good reason to just muck it now.
