One of the holes I have found in my game is a general lack of river aggression - so aside from trying to make more value bets I am also trying to slip in a bluff here and there vs opponents who might be able to lay a pair down.

Villain is solid looking TAG player.

Hero has played like a bit of a nit this session.

What range (apart from Ax obv) calls my river bet? and is sizing good?

I was planning a bluff raise here on a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] river if my turn check induces a bet - is that a good plan?

I always gave up in spots like this after my flop c/r got called and shut up shop - which feels really weak.

I don't like it. IMO, He'll look you up w/ any pair after that turn check.

Not that I know anything about it, but if you want to add river bluffs you should set them up by representing something THROUGHOUT the hand, not with an isolated bet on the end.

Also, would you really raise the flop w/ an A here? Your line looks more like busted diamonds than anything.

I like it, Im fairly sure this is how you would play an ace so if the villain is good, then he should acknowledge the same thing. I think the size is good against a good opponent in that it looks like a clear value bet. I think villain should be folding any two pair hands here again assuming he is decent.

dont like it at all, you are repping absolutely nothing. you cant sell him that you have trip aces on the river given that you checked the turn

So no ace checks the turn here for pot control? I think thats wrong. I think you can definitely sell trip aces here, why would he bet turn if he has a weak to moderate ace? I think the other thing here is that good opponents also know that river aggression is so rarely air that I actually think a river bet here is more believable than a turn bet.

Seems reasonable to me. I really don't expect him to check an Ace on river, if he does congratulations. Given your flop raise and check behind on turn you should mostly show up with AQ, AT, A9, etc, by betting river and also checking turn. Going to be incredibly hard for him to call with a Jack or anything.

IMO, the only hands I see villain folding is busted diamonds, and he prolly would have bet those.

Because the board is wet and its BvB. I should actually change that though, he can show up with any ace here I think besides ones that would give him a boat.

Don't like this at all.
You say villain is a solid TAG. If so wouldn't he expect you to repop a strong ace pre? Especially to his weak looking minraise.
Then on flop, why would you raise a weak ace? Your line looks exactly like missed diamonds and if villain is any good he'll call you with a Jack here, which is more likely given your smallish river bet.

If you have a nitty image I prefer 3betting this pre, especially to his minraise, which is often just a cheap steal attempt.
