NLTRN - Comment on river plz
Ok, so it's very early in the game, no reads, is there anyone who raises this river for value or folds ( diff. spectrums I know ;p )?

Re: NLTRN - Comment on river plz
I dont see any value in raising here, the thing is that the 2 cards that made you trips by the river completed almost every draw there is.. but then again a good villain might use this to play a 9 or a weak J this way.
So it comes down to either villain had a draw and made it ( Q10 might be the only one that didnt) or is making a PSB bet on the river with a hand that we have beat.. I think id call on the river. |

Re: NLTRN - Comment on river plz
I am too much of a calling station to ever fold this. The card that gave you trips completed every draw, so raising doesn't have any value. If it was a black 7, you could raise there for value.

There's no reason for villain to pot a bluff.

Re: NLTRN - Comment on river plz
Thinking more about this hand, looks like he made a flush here (or maybe a straight, even more likely, because he might raise with a flush draw, but probably wouldn't do it with a straight draw?). You are probably beat, but not necessarilly. There is a VERY SMALL chance that he has a lone jack here which makes it a call.

Re: NLTRN - Comment on river plz
hehe... just for logic's sake if the was a VERY SMALL chance he has a lone jack, and a large chance he has me beat, and the bet is a PSB, wouldnt that make it a fold?
edit: Meaning if his range consists largely or almost entirely of hands that beat me, why is a call logical for a PSB? |

Re: NLTRN - Comment on river plz
I was leaning heavily towards a fold when i first read it, but then i thought this is one of those situations in which a PSB is either a "bluff" or a very strong hand.
In my limited experience, early on in a match people might be more inclined to use a PSB on the river as a bluff rather than for value. logically this might be a fold, but calling isnt very illogical. i dont know if im making any sense... |

Re: NLTRN - Comment on river plz
no way to raise this river for value obv.
I cant fold this, your check behind on the turn looks so weak that he might easyly bet another jack or even a 9. |

*grunch*
I call and expect to be good more often than not. The fact that were getting odds makes it really easy imo. I would be tempted to raise but that def. isnt a good idea. |
