Yep, Mike's obituary was in our local paper last night... and a front page article about him. That was the same Mike Holt that I went to school with. What a shame.

I happened to run into the head tracker of Michael Holt's search and rescue team last night at Hotel Brunswick, a restaurant/bar in Kingman.

Wayne Wissinger is a volunteer on the Mohave County Search and Rescue team and was called out to help search for Michael last Friday, after the vehicle was found. They (his team) found Michael 6-7 miles from the car and there was an empty water gallon at about 3-4 miles from the car. They were able to track Michael's walk and have no reason to suspect foul play as they were able to tell that he did, indeed, walk 6-7 miles before suffering from the elements, vs. being "dumped" as suspected with foul play scenarios.

Sgt. Mike Friend is the lead detective on this case from the Mohave County Sheriff's Department.

May he rest in peace and I hope this info can bring some kind of closure to his friends or family.
