Default Showboat in AC question

I read on here a few months ago that the Showboat's poker room was having problems due to the new law passed that states smoking is only allowed on the gaming floor. Since my buddy for some reason just loves playing at the Showboat(he always wins there). I was wondering if they cleared up this problem of having people take the long escalator ride down to the main floor to smoke, or if it is still a problem, as I don't want to try to play there if my opponents get up and leave for 15 min every hour or so.

opponents don't leave mid-session too much, they're just not as many of them overall.

hrm, I always win at the Showboat too!! amazing... both times I played there they had 2/4 and one 1/2NL game. The dealers were pretty slow but the other players were even worse. Hardly anyone had more than $100 in front of them so even if you buyin for the max you're playing short stack NL. Also the game was 6-8 handed most of the time as well.

Every time I'm there, people suggest how the casino should put like 6 slot machines on the 2nd floor so it would technically be the "casino floor" and people could go smoke near them. The hardcore smokers all just smoke in the bathrooms anyway, so its really not much of an issue as far as the players that are there. I do think a lot more people would frequent the HoB Pokerroom if there was a closer legal smoking area though.

From what I hear, Showboat won't have that problem with smoking and the poker room much longer... and its not because smoking will be allowed.

He already said it, its not hard to read between the lines. Sometimes information isn't freely available, innuendo is better than no information at all.

I don't know why, their tourneys have been drawing much bigger fields recently than I experienced about 6 months ago. The cash games are pretty beat though.

For the smokers, here's the tip - I learned it after a HoB show when the escalator was logjammed and a security guy saw me wandering with an unlit smoke: Go left out of the poker room, then down the elevators to your left (before the long hall). Faster than the escalator and long walk.

Eh. Relatively anonymous internet forum. Just get it said, imo.
