How about an obvious answer..

"what happened during the mound visit?"

The coach talked to the pitcher!

Did the coach tell him that he was not coming out regardless?

Did the batter swing and miss at the outside pitches resulting in a strikeout? I have to assume that was asked, but when I skimmed the posts I didn't see it.

They were all called strikes

1. At any point during the game did the manager think it might be beneficial for his team to lose the game?

2. When the pitcher intentionally threw the wild pitch did a runner advance from 2nd to 3rd?

3. Did the manager think that the wild pitch would help his team win the game?

4. Was the pitcher trying to get the batters out when he gave up the 3 doubles?

5. Was the decision to throw a wild pitch made because it might improve someone's (or the team's) stats?

Was the team using stall tactics to see if another team won before deciding whether to try to win the game? If it's the last game of the season, it might be beneficial to lose the game to affect the playoff brackets.

Was the pitcher hoping the hitter would take a swing at the wild pitch?
Did the WP achieve its intended purpose?
is it important that the hitters all doubled off the first pitch?
Was this (above question) the reason for the WP?

Were all the pitches fastballs (not breaking balls)?

Youll need the coach's basic strategy and why to win. No he didn't tell him he wasn't coming out regardless

Was the overall intent of the coach's strategy to get the batter to strike out looking?
If the batter had simply grounded out to the pitcher, would the coach have felt his plan was properly achieved?

I got it. The Yankees were stealing signs when they had a runner on second base. (The guy on second base could see the catcher's signs). Or the coach thought they were. So it was advantagous for the team to advance the Yankee runner from 2nd to 3rd.

Edited for clarity.
