I wish they would make a video of this. I like Laak's antics and it would surely entertain me. Also it would be cool to not have to read hand histories at some point after the match but just watch the hands with hole cards on the video.

the duplicate thing is cool and way better than dealing randomly, but it's still flawed unless the two pros are identically skilled.

I imagine if the matches are close they'll run more, which will help the results to be more meanigful.

Phil Laak is without a doubt one of my favourite players, although he dosent seem to get much respect here on 2+2.
His column in Bluff is some of the best stuff I have ever read about poker.

about the challange itself 2k hands is a joke, what a crapshoot.

I am i little confused. Why is this a crap-shoot? Isn't the computer going to play both hands but against different opponents? This seems a lot like duplicate bridge and should remove much of the "luck" factor.

[/ QUOTE ]

The variance in 2k hands is still huge.

[/ QUOTE ]

You don't understand how they structured it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I do, but do you really think this format solves the problem of variance?

You understand it now that another poster has spelled it out for you. Glad to see you're still stubborn enough to stick to essentially "2k hands, lol."

Your title immediately made me assume religious folks were all psyched on poker because of the new champ. I got excited.

Boy was I off.
