Default A Triple Barrel Or I Like Gutshots

Villain is a decent, aggressive regular. I have him at 23/14/4 over about 1k hands. He seems to be an ok hand reader, also don't recall ever having gotten out of line vs him. Thoughts?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

Hero ($199)
MP ($64.75)
CO ($379)
Button ($202)
SB ($229.50)
BB ($212.10)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with , .
Hero raises to $8, 2 folds, Button|Button calls $8, SB calls $7, 1 fold.

Flop: ($26) , , (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $18, Button|Button calls $18, SB folds.

Turn: ($62) (2 players)
Hero bets $46, Button|Button calls $46.

River: ($154) (2 players)
Hero bets $127 (All-In)

I'm really not interested in hearing fold pf. I'd rather just have another thread that gets no replies than a bunch of pointless pf debates.

I like it. he could have a set and realize he doesn't really need to raise turn if you have KQ/AK, which is what you're repping. But more likely he has a J that can peel the turn thinking you're maybe bluffing, but will fold the river.

Your line is so strong and the range of hands you can have is so narrow. I think after he calls the turn he's probably not folding the river, but we have 7 high so we shove because [censored] him that's why.

Seriously though, do you value shove AK there? AJ? I mean, this is pretty much set or air, and we could be good against 56.

Blocking bet so we don't get bluffed off the best hand?

I think it's okay as long as villain can fold a hand like QJ here.

That is a great card to double barrel on, but not such a great one to triple barrel.

When you raise PF, bet the flop, then the turn, you are representing at least AK. So when he calls the turn, he either:

1) doesn't believe you
2) has AK beat

When you shove the river, it's questionable if your range still includes AK.

I would need some history or a better read of villain to bluff here.

I might be value shoving AJ some here, which is why I'm not bluff shoving...he's calling a lot.

Thanks for the replies.

Spivey, I think my range is a bit wider but yes, AK, KQ, KJ, obv AA and any set are the obivious hands I'm hoping he'll see.

Thac - definitely can't see playing AK any other way and often AJ and QQ are value shoves. You're right, my range is fairly narrow I guess, AJ, QQ, AA, any set, AK, KJ and KQ but my range for bluffing here is waaaaay more narrow isn't it?

Casper, I agree, AJ is often a value shove here but not one where I expect to get called often with a worse hand, it's more something I'll do for balance.

The thing is, the board is so dry, there's not much I can really be bluffing with, 56, QT, not much else. That said, I always double that K and get peels a lot and got tired of checking the turn and watching 99-any J take it down so I thought I'd try this and see what happened because I just think his range on the turn is sooooo well defined and only a small portion of it can call this shove comfortably. I mean, the 8 is a great card here, I don't think I can do this if the river is an A, Q or T here.

Hince, AK is most defnitely in my range. I honestly can't imagine playing it any other way. Would you really c/c or c/f the river with AK? I agree he doesn't believe me on the turn, was wondering if a river shove would 'convince' 'him'.

I'd just give up on the turn.
