Ah, normally players bust out in chronological order. Near the bubble, this creates an incentive for players to stall just to outlive others, so they change to hand-for-hand play. Each hand is synchronized, and if players bust on the same hand, they finish in order of their stack sizes going into that hand. Awkward, slow, cumbersome, but so far nobody has come up with a better idea.
