Thank you for your answers.

Looking around in the forum I found some threads about this argument but kust from a NLHE point of view.
It is very interesting what you said about the fact that it is almost impossible to find a clear definition for the qualities of a player in PLO.

Thanks.

It seems nobody is willing to help on this.

[/ QUOTE ]Luckyjimm - Seems ironic that your reply that nobody is willing to help on this is to a post where I tried to help on this.

Admittedly, it was a feeble attempt, but I don't play on-line.

But I can understand that someone who uses and profits from poker tracker, and who thinks of you as prey might be reticent to help you, and might even make a rude and/or non-helpful and/or obtuse or misleading response post to your request for help.

On the other hand, there are many others who post here who are willing to share and who try to be helpful and who are not condescending, rude, or misleading.

I can appreciate your frustration. It's pretty hard to know who to trust.

With regard to the search function, try what I suggested in my first post in this thread.

The 2+2 forums will soon be switching to vBulletin software. There's a note regarding the change in the top sticky in the "About the Forums" forum. In that sticky there's a URL to a discussion. If you have complaints or suggestions about the search function, you might join in that discussion. (Maybe read it first).

Hope this helps. Meanwhile, while I was typing this, there seem to be some other more responsive posts.

Telling someone to "Search for Poker Tracker" is hardly helpful, since it brings up so many irrelevant results and nothing of specific use to someone wishing to learn how to use PokerTracker Omaha. And obviously OP knew he could search, but wanted some ACTUAL HELP. So I just assumed that, like Mr Fabrizio, you were being snide and sarcastic. I am sorry my faith in humanity is so low.

BTW, I didn't think you were going to post here until you finished your PLO project from a few weeks back?

[/ QUOTE ]

Eh, I can't remember what that was.

Ironically it is in a thread you started about Pokertracker.

"Okay, I may well revive this thread when I get to 10k hands.
Since my playing is limited to the evenings and I only single-table, this may take a while. So just get on with your lives in the meantime, guys!"

Telling someone to "Search for Poker Tracker" is hardly helpful

[/ QUOTE ]Hi Jim - I agree.

What I wrote is[ QUOTE ]
Try typing "poker tracker" (with the quotation marks) into the search box that is located at the bottom of the page when you first click onto this forum and see the list of posts.

[/ QUOTE ]Search for "poker tracker" and "Search for poker tracker" are very much different. (One is helpful, while the other is not).

I can see how you could misinterpret what I wrote. But I was honestly not trying to be snide and sarcastic.

[ QUOTE ]
I am sorry my faith in humanity is so low.

[/ QUOTE ]No problem. Alas, at times mine is too.

My main interest is in Omaha-8, but I'm interested in other poker games as well, and in particular, it seems like understanding Omaha-high can only help me to better understand the high aspect of Omaha-8.

I used to post on r.g.p. and I still feel a kinship with some of those posters. But there's a lot of crap to sift through on r.g.p. to get to meaningful threads about Omaha-8.

I don't feel like being critical of any function of 2+2. Instead I feel grateful that free sites are provided for discussion of tactics and strategy of both Omaha and Omaha-8.

But I can understand how you might feel frustrated with the current search function.

Oh yes, and the search function on this site is the biggest load of useless [censored] [censored] in the world. It can't even do a [censored] two-word search, if you put:

PokerTracker +Omaha

it ignores the + and searches for either word. What a load of bollocks!

[/ QUOTE ]
It works as documented. You mean to search

+PokerTracker +Omaha
