Re: LOTR: Return of the King (GAME THREAD)
[ QUOTE ]
I am actually not complaining about the balance. The wolves should have run and it looked fine before starting. I was more commenting on how unexpectedly hard it was to play the Mouth. Perhaps I played it poorly, but that was the one area where I should have pushed harder for input from my fellow wolves. I just didn't really know how my votes would be perceived by the village. I would also say that getting that free role block is a lot tougher in practice than it sounds. Let's say it looks pretty clear that a villager is going down. So I vote for him to get my free roleblock, but that presents the very real possibility that votes move off that person and maybe a wolf dies, which is a disaster. [/ QUOTE ] Or you put your vote on a wolf in danger, and the votes move off that person and maybe a villager dies |

Re: LOTR: Return of the King (GAME THREAD)
Btw, the only reason for the Mouth's roleblock ability was to give his vote meaning, so that he could force the village to decide whether or not he was bluffing. The suggested tactic of putting wdc on /ignore isn't valid when the vote has meaning like that.

Re: LOTR: Return of the King (GAME THREAD)
I was very involved in the game even if I wasn't posting a lot. I was reading very closely and was there for every wolf chat. I was also having fun, to tell you the truth I felt like we were destroying the village and it was best to play my role very conservatively.

Re: LOTR: Return of the King (GAME THREAD)
That's probably true for books, but I think wolves (in general) have to push harder when they're winning, especially in games like this.
I know we made an easy win really hard in Fellowship. |

Re: LOTR: Return of the King (GAME THREAD)
BTW,
I take credit for the horrible Dustin lynch. I didn't think he was the best candidate, I didn't refresh the thread up to that point between work and home, I wanted to vote on someone random. And then EVERYONE just piled on and it would be stupid for me to unvote him, so I just went along with that lynch. Being Eowyn made it tough to play my usual game I felt. |
