Ha, I've thought about it. Grinding well, don't worry. It's only my 2nd week back.

Still working out the kinks, so no need. Plus, I need to re-learn some BR management skills that I was getting lax on in summer. And I'm trying to learn to play 8+ tables for the first time ever.

It's fun crushing the $25 game though, I gotta admit.

Nevermind mind me, I'm just being a [censored]

Matter of fact, I've decided to spend the rest of the night at 50NL before my head assplodes.

Up 3 buy-ins in a hour. So it seems to be working

My all-ins today went good again

average ev: 0.6544
money won: 66647.10$
money expected (based on allin equity): 69386.39$
money difference: -2739.29$

[/ QUOTE ]

I've come to realize that all-in equity is a really, really tiny fraction of the overall luck factor.

Not to say you aren't experiencing a run of bad luck; I'm sure you are. But I think that all-in equity tells us much less than we think it does.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've known this forever and try to tell people but nobody listens

x2. I even told you this directly several months ago Pokerboy.

Guys,

I think most of us know what it means in the long-term portion of things and the big picture.

I use it more as a laugh factor, it makes me feel good I've got my money in so good, and it is actually funny that I've done so bad on all-ins. The other parts of luck have something to do with your play as well. You are going to hit less sets if you don't setmine in HU pots. You are going to hit more otherwise. You are going to hit more flushes if you chase more, etc. What this tells you is only one thing: When you push that Raise all-in or Call All-In button, how are you running? It is pure luck there and it is a good measure to tell you some things about how you are running.

I don't think I would ever use it to tell how I was running. I was -800 or so in all-in equity at the beginning of the month and was +3k overall. It is just fun to look and see I am getting screwed when I can't do anything about it

Another thing is that the higher your allin equity is the more likely it is that you are going to be facing an extreme swing one way or the other. I could do the math, but I'm too tired.

Yep,

The longer you play the bigger the absolute number may be off. Buy-in significance by then is actually insignificant even though $10k as a real dollar figure sounds huge.

Awesome. Too Eazy convinced me with his Shannon Elizabeth philosophy on poker. Since I'm down 4bi's for the 2nd night in a row. I thought hey, good attitude, good things will happen.

I know bet more on the flop. Check fold the turn.
