this is from a live game, .10 BB 5 players, first hand of the night, everyone has $10. villain is loose pf not atc, but will play lots of suited cards and even unsuited connectors at times), i have caught her moving AI on scary boards w/hands that are WAWB. I am the button.

The SB checking after the flop, I'd say gives clues that she's looking for a free card for the flush draw.

The SB calling your $0.7 raise was a mistake, pot odds were just over 2:1.

The check-reraise could be to trap you, as you led the betting preflop, flop and then turn...

Even if she is bluffing, its too early to risk your stack. Fold.

i would agree w/this logic in a tournament, but this is a cash game. i would say there's at least 25% chance that she is moving w/a worse hand here. this move from here generally means i have a hand that may be behind, but i have outs.

I'd call it every time. You'll probably lose pretty often, but you have at least 22% equity in the pot even if she has a flush. You're getting a shade less than 2:1, so she only has to be bluffing ~12% of the time for this call to be break-even. Certainly "i've caught her moving in on scary boards with WA/WB hands" qualifies as 12%, right?

I play it just like you do (and call the check-raise), but if you are seriously considering folding here, then you're far better off checking the turn and calling/betting the river. It's not the most profitable way to play your hand, but you pretty much avoid tough decisions.

how often is it that he has a hand that called you on the flop, has a single heart, and a non board pairing heart hits the river?

compare that to how often he has a lesser made hand (say underpair that didn't believe you on the flop) that called the flop, a blank hits river, and he tries to bluff you.

compare that to seeing your 10 outer for free and punishing him for checking the turn with a made flush.

instead, you'll rather protect a small pot against a very unlikely scenario by putting in all your money and giving maximum implied odds to flush draws on the flop.



you have to understand that the 4th heart hits the river very seldomly.

Now this logic is a little off at uNL because you will get called by worse made hands on the flop quite a bit more often than at 600NL, but it's something to consider for sure. The boards are just so similar. If he did call with a weaker made hand, you can get value on the river.
