Default An ideal card room has....

Hey everyone... my brother and I are thinking of opening up a new card room that is designed specifically for poker players.

If you had your way... what would the ideal card room have in it?

We are already thinking of things like VERY comfortable chairs... slightly over sized card tables so players have more room... excellent lighting of the tables... things like that.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
- K

#1) A way to avoid being arrested since Hawaii is a gambling zero-tolerance state

#2) Nothing else matters. You have a captive audience in a market where you have a monopoly.

I think it starts from the top bottom. You must have experienced staff and excellent dealers. I prefer nice chips to go along with clean cards... access to food and drinks is a must (with a wide range of both... nothing worse than asking if you want special #1 or special #2)

If it's a small room don't have two big a menu; it's hard to keep things fresh and good with a big menu and small customer base. Stick with a few decent staples and some sort of dish of the day.

I also used to like the home made meals served at the Players Club in Ventura (which had three or four tables). The meal came out for all seated players at the same time. Very homey and customer friendly. Since I haven't been there in years I'm not sure they still do this.
