If you're doing this on a weekday, go 94 - 494 - 169.

On the weekend, it doesn't make any difference.

Yup, 169 winds around too much between between 94 and 494, and southbound on 169, as you come the hill towards 494, there is a stoplight that is guaranteed to be red. The DOT has installed special sensing equipment with the algorithm: IF car going to Canterbury, THEN turn light red.

Avoiding this intersection will save you 5 minutes.
