Default The Well: BozLax

[ QUOTE ]
A stranger is being shown around a village that he has just become part of. He is shown a well and his guide says "On any day except Wednesday, you can shout any question down that well and you'll be told the answer" .

The man seems pretty impressed, and so he shouts down: Why not on Wednesday? and the voice from in the well shouts back: Because on Wednesday, it’s your day in the well.

[/ QUOTE ]

*splash*

I'm sure a few of you would like to actually throw me down a well, but this is as close as you'll ever get, you pansies. For those of you that missed Aaron's and Wookie's, basically ask me anything for the next 24 hours, and I'll do my best to answer.

Let's get some basics out of the way. I'll have more when I get back.

When did you start playing, and what got you into poker?

You still playing poker online?

What do you do for a living?

What criteria is needed to want overcalls?

What criteria is needed to not want overcalls?

Point form, and as concise as possible. I think alot of people will benefit from this information.

"I was born a poor, black child...." (Name the movie.)

Let's see, I was born in Jersey, grew up on a farm in Central Virginia, and graduated from Princeton University with a hangover and a useless degree in Architecture. I kicked around for a few years after graduation, met my wife playing doubles volleyball in Charlottesville, VA, moved with her to DC for three years while she went to law school and I became an IT jack-of-all-trades. After she graduated we moved to LA, where we still live she working as a lawyer and I taking care of our 3 kids and coaching lacrosse at a local college.

I am a hard-core Rockefeller Republican.

I'm not religious, but I think my wife is starting to wish I was.

[Deleted because I'm not trying to start any fights.]

I'm 5'18" tall, and weigh 230 pounds.

I breed prize-winning clams.

Howzat?

I began playing poker when I was 3 with my grandparents as a way to teach me math. I played a Saturday-night game in high school and I'd lift pennies off the teacher assigned to my dorm. I played 3 and 4 day marathons in college.

I started playing online a couple of years ago, after I realized that I could do that instead of Yahoo! Hearts and actually make some money. Yes, I still play online, and, no, I'm not panicked about the legislation. Someday, somehow, I'll get my money out of UB and 'Stars, until then, it's entertainment.

See my backgrounder.

Werd. Boz is my name, lax is "la" + a cross. We lacrosse players are a clever bunch (I can't take personal credit for coming up with it).

Lacrosse is the only uniquely North American sport. Everything else is derived from something somewhere else (although how Professor Naismith knew about South American natives is beyond me). Native Americans in upstate New York were observed playing it by French missionaries who dubbed it La Crosse because they thought the stick resembled a crucifix. Those natives called it "baggataway" which translates as "little brother of war"; they played within their tribes as training for war, and with other tribes as an alternative to war.
