I'll have to check out "Quiting the Mob." Franzese was a big-time earner. The fact this guy made the Costra Nostra literally hundreds of millions of dollars is fascinating to me. Hearing his story on how he made the majority of this money from gas/fuel sales is interesting.

The tie between gambling and organized crime will always be there as long as it is not legalized in most states. If there are mob connections to online poker, they have done a lot of things right(especially those companies who did not go public). The sad thing is I probably would not quit online poker even if I knew for a fact I was contributing to organized crime bankroll.

it's just kinda funny cuz we really know nothing about who owns any of these sites, obv these pros do, its just such a mysterious field, its like hedge funds

fwiw, i worked with a guy that does website design, marketing materials etc and he did some work for a few online poker site (he did not specify which ones, so the could have been smaller ones that have fallen off the map). point being, he made it clear that the gentlemen running these sites were, in fact, "mobbed up."
