Re: Worst week in the history of the world?
In general, I'm sure you can find a lot more terrible [censored] that happend some other week (or even that week), but if you narrow it down to just the last 300 years in America, I still think there are probably worse weeks. Start with beginning of civil war, 9/11, Pearl Harbor, or some other major event and work from there. Also, Hitler being born and the Titanic sinking are a little bit of a strech for the American thing, IMO.
Here's a small list I started (w/o the American clause): December 24, 1865 Several US Civil War Confederate veterans form the Ku Klux Klan. December 25, 0 Jesus Born December 26, 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami |

Re: Worst week in the history of the world?
now that it has been clarified as America, I'd guess that the first week of November has a lock on it.
Andrew Jackson Elected President FDR Elected President <insert random jackass president you don't like here> elected president. Hell, i haven't even looked to see what other nightmarish stuff happened that week. It seems like a fresh disaster every four years or so on that week. |

Re: Worst week in the history of the world?
I think the thread would've been much better if it were about people noticing stuff around their birthdays but I definitely suck at teh oot and won't start any more threads as my penance.
Nustar's post is what I was looking for. Is the topic of worst week really that disinteresting? I was just throwing out this week because I've noticed it and it does have quite a bit of awful stuff, and I was curious if others have noticed the same around their birthdays since I'm not the only one to have noticed it around this week. I wasn't sure if that was because the week is really awful, or just because of perception. |
