Re: bellagio 50/100 live vs Jamie Gold
I don't understand how preflop is ever ok. He is going to call any hand he opened with, so why exactly don't you want to raise? If you have position and always play better and he hangs himself, you want as much money in the pot on every street as possible, calling preflop doesn't really accomplish that.

If he takes his time to compose himself, stack his chips, and then he pops it, it will reveal too much about the strength of his hand. For some reason, this happens to me a lot live (getting a premium hand within seconds of sitting down and being a bit frazzled). Also, most people will give respect to a reraise the first time someone does it, although Jamie might not care. dlpnyc21 |

Re: bellagio 50/100 live vs Jamie Gold
i hate inflating this pot on the turn vs. gold. having played a bit with him live, basically i agree with dlp.
this is a very weird/bluffy line from him, it just reeks of like J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] or something. due to the suits in your hand it's hard for him to have a good pair+draw on the flop, so I would expect this to be either a really huge hand or some cheesy pair/draw that picked up outs on the turn. usually the latter. EDIT: yes gold will refuse to give up those hands to the turn raise pretty often, doubt there will be much dissension about that but just in case |

Re: bellagio 50/100 live vs Jamie Gold
once we raise the turn i am calling off all my chips no matter what the river brings. especially since he bet dark.
i think normally i would just call the turn. and then call most rivers. gold doesn't usually make huge bets right? |

Wouldn't it be easy enough to simply ask if toptop is good here?
