The vast majority of players are losers.

The vast majority of 2+2'ers are losers, although they probably haven't figured it out yet or have seen the positive side of variance for far too long that the massive losses haven't occurred yet (see Gambling Theory & Other Topics for more info). Personally I admit the jury is still out on myself as a long term winner, its totally possible that I luck boxed my way into my current stakes but I hope not.

This is a very key distinction. I would have a very hard time believing that a majority of players on 2p2 lose $ overall. However, that's only because it's sooo easy to make money at microstakes. Obviously very few players are ever going to be good enough to beat high, or even mid-stakes games.

Whoa. What if someone can beat the 2/4NL Party for 800 a day? Why should they ever move up? Maybe they preferred the risk-averseness of how they were playing.

I own GTOT, but I'm too lazy to dig through it. However I remember a comment from Mason a few months ago on this site to the effect that he believed 80% of those people who play poker on a regular basis were winners. If this is true then obviously more than 50% of 2+2ers would be winning players.
