I think there's something to that... even though we have a full 15 seconds (!) to think when it's out turn I often let the pace of the game take me along - I am often guily of raising in spots like this where it's likely that one other player has 4 to a wheel and another possibly 4 to a 6. Not that it's awful to raise there but it's not so automatic as when my opponents are showing some serious crapola.

I know raise is the auto-response here - but I like a call sometimes, too. Especially when the 86 is betting. Maybe you wouldn't have gotten the calls all the way to and on the river if you'd raised. Calling can be a really good play here. I think it was, whether you intended it to be or not.
