Default Neteller possible solution: Opening a canadian account

Neteller said they would be willing to transfer my funds to a foreign accoutn if it is in my name. Does anyone know how hard it is to open up a foreign account? I could open a canadian bank account, tie it to neteller and have them transfer my funds over. Does this sound like a feasible idea?

Because Neteller will want a copy of your Canadian drivers license and a copy of a utility bill with your Canadian address on it.

So an American citizen living in Canada is unable to open a Neteller Canada account? Just want to confirm b/c this is different from what I've heard from many people.

No. Neteller does not require a Canadian driver's license or passport.

They just told me that since I have a US Neteller account I can't link a Canadian bank account to it.

No, you can't, because you live in the US. There would be no problem if you lived in Canada.

OK. What do they require do establish a Canadian Neteller account, aside from a Canadian bank account? Thanks

NETeller now requires a copy of a utility bill - no exceptions.

You also need to confirm the phone call, have a government issued ID as well as a copy of your bank statement.

Be sure you have an address set up where you will pay a utility bill, then get a phone through Vonage, exchange your US license for a Canadian one, set up a bank account and presumably then you can e-mail in all these things and then you will be verified with the phone call.

The utility bill requirement is absurd and another testament to shady NETeller "business" practices. I've rented for years in the US without seeing a utility bill and I'm sure many Canadians are in the same boat.
