you should start broadening your tastes. i suggest jumping directly to scotches, but really, i would first sit down with a nice array of bourbon's and whiskey's.

stuff like knob creek, woodford reserve, some jack daniels, make comparisons, sound like a professional, imo. etc

if you do dig those, i'd definately say move to scotch. highlands first, they're the most popular for a good reason. and stay away from blends.
