Re: Horrible ESPN article about PPA and on line poker
I want to send a response and CC someone at ESPN. No luck in finding an appropriate email address yet. If anyone finds one before me, please post it.

Best I could find. Dear Mr. Kriedler, I am writing to you in reference to the column listed above. I am a poker enthusiast, having played for several years and having earned virtually all of my income from online poker games during 2006. I therefore humbly suggest that you leave the topic of poker, online or otherwise, alone. Your column betrays a shocking lack of knowledge of recent events concerning online poker and related legislation, and yet you seem perfectly willing to write about it as if an expert. I also recommend that when writing on a topic you know nothing about, try running your piece past an editor who knows the difference between what is witty and insightful and what is ignorant and asinine. I assure you that what comes off in this column is exclusively the latter. Sincerely, Me |

[ QUOTE ]
I'm amazed with the amount of poker programing and revenue generated from poker advertising (mostly online sites) for ESPN that this article was published. [/ QUOTE ] In a way, this is refreshing, even though I whole-heartedly disagree with the article. |

Re: Horrible ESPN article about PPA and on line poker
I noticed that many of the reviews of his wrestling book on Amazon said something to the effect of "author didn't do his research/wasn't familiar with the subject." Are those reviews just 2+2ers sliming the guy, or is he as bad a writer as the espn column would lead me to believe?

Re: Horrible ESPN article about PPA and on line poker
I actually read this same article (I think) in either the New York Times and USA Today. Or at least it had the same headline.
I threw it out though. |

I wrote an email to the author of the article.
I suggest everyone who reads this post gets off their lazy ass and does the same. |

Re: Horrible ESPN article about PPA and on line poker
I remember an article a couple of years ago, probably in an ESPN publication. The guy said how the poker craze is so played out (I have no problem with him saying that), and his reason was that "Let's face it...everybody now pretty much knows how to play, and once you know how to play the game is 99% luck."
[censored] douche. Edit: It was the SportsGuy on Page 2, and here's the real quote: "When you're at a table where everyone knows how to play -- and by the way, just about everyone knows how to play now -- it's 90 percent luck! " Edit again: What kind of a stupid moron douchebag thinks that just because the players at his home game know what a "river" is and that AK is a "coin-flip" against a lower pair, that they are decent players? I suck, but I'd love to play in the motherf----r's home game and destroy it. "Motherf-----'s" wasn't censored. |
