Default Would anybody here play this game?

I was offered some work dealing a private game. It is 5-5 NL hold'em, with an uncapped 10% rake. The only thing I can add to the positive is that the average player in the game is pretty bad, and they do buy in for a decent amount (1-2k). But I really don't understand how these games go as long as they do (like 2 days at a time). Just curious if anyone could enlighten me as to why anyone would play in a game where up to a full buyin is being taken off the table an hour.

Thanks in advance.

Is it the only game in town? Can't think of any other reason to play....

Uncapped 10% rake, meaning if the pot is $2k, the house rakes $200? Thats highway robbery if so.

(A) Ignorance
(B) Stupidity
(C) Addiction

Pick any one or combination of the above.

What astounds me is that I've heard of similar private game descriptions before.

I'd love to host a game with that kind of rake.

It doesnt matter how bad the players are. Its going to be an unbeatable game. I would never play in any game thats 10% uncapped, and I'd warn others not to do so as well.

Your statement doesn't make sense to me. If the house is taking 10% out of every pot that still leaves 90% of the pot in there - as long as you keep winning big pots you will still beat the game, and if the players are bad you should win big pots...

I think the thing that would make the difference is if you only played big pots, you couldn't afford to lose one.

For example if you came in to cover, and got someone all in for 1k for a 2k pot total, if you lose it, there is 200 dropped out of it. now, when you get that guy all-in again for 1800 for a 3600 total pot, if you win the pot that time, you get back 3240. So by playing only big pots you have risked 2800, and paid 560 in rake in two hands to win 440...

I think my math is right... correct me if I'm wrong

And this game is in a pretty decent sized metro area, with plenty of games within a reasonable driving distance.
