Is there any reason to go to Foxwoods over AC?
Just curious...I have been to AC about six times and never been to Foxwoods. I like a good variety of games:
- Limit Hold-em up to 10/20 - Low stakes Omaha Hi/Lo or mixed-game - NLHE 1/2 or 2/5 - Tournaments up to $500 buy-in if they have good structure, and maybe SNGs if they are any good The casino wouldn't need to have all these games, but it would need to have more than one. Does Foxwoods have any advantages over, say, Borgata, for my tastes? |

Unless you live closer to Foxwoods, no.

You've got the same reason I have
- never been there before. |

From D.C. that's nowhere near a good enough reason. From NYC, it's enough.

Re: Is there any reason to go to Foxwoods over AC?
I'm in NYC and I've gone to Foxwoods once. The 4-8 game might have been the easiest game I've played with the exception of one or two 2-4 games I played. The dealers were a bit worse but the game conditions easily made up for the fewer number of hands played.
I also found that it was cheaper to stay there on a weekend then it was in AC and it was a pretty hotel nice room. That being said I probably won't go back unless its for a long weekend and I want something different than AC. I found it a lot harder to get to (since I don't have a car) and that wasn't worth it. |

Re: Is there any reason to go to Foxwoods over AC?
Since I took up poker until the last month, I've always been closer to FW than AC so my question has always been, "How often do I make the extra trip?"
I can see why you'd visit Foxwoods for novelty's sake, but I'd still take the Borgata every time. That said, the new room is quite nice and the idea of an Indian casino in the middle of nowhere in an East Coast state is kind of interesting, so it might be worth exploring to see what you think. Besides, you really want to be able to commiserate on the FW dealers posts, right? |

If your anywhere south of NYC i dont really see any reason to go.
The traffic is horrific around NYC and southern CT. and Foxwoods really is not all too interesting. Borgata is much better. |

I am in Long Island. I am approximately 155 miles away from BOTH Atlantic City and Foxwoods.
I was in AC a few weeks ago. Did OK there at the Borgata and Ceasars. Any reason to go to Foxwoods? Does the timed rake hurt a TAG player more than the typical AC rake? |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm in Coram, a little farther east that you probably. I like the SeaJet from Orient and the shuttle bus to Foxwoods. You drive to Orient, pay $29.50 or so, get a $10 food coupon and $20 in Keno. Much better than driving on the Belt Parkway, through Staten Island, and down the Garden City Parkway. Ferry link, click "Casinos" -Tom |
