Default help on finding stud games

i am thinking of going to indiana or mississippi. would like advice on where i can easily find low limit stud games, preferably without an ante, as its getting very difficult to find those games anymore, at least in the WA and LV area.

After surveying the Horseshoe and Gold Strike in Tunica, my guess is that you will only find the occasional $1-5 game. Not sure about antes, as I didn't get around to asking (was more interested in NLHE buyins).

You didn't ask, but Foxwoods antes not only the $1-5 but also the $1-3, both for 50c, which makes the latter as overanted as a $75/150 game with a $25 ante.

You can find low-limit stud in AC; Taj, Trop and maybe one or two others. Usually $1-3 or $1-5 with no ante.

I played in a $1-4 game in Biloxi, can't remember which casino but it was about a month before Katrina. It had a $.25 ante though.

Gotta be some low limit stud games still in Vegas, I'd imagine.

Casino Aztar in Evansville spreads 1-5 stud w/no ante regularly.

My Tunica info is about a year old, but the Horseshoe was spreading 1-5 stud with a $0.25 ante regularly, the Gold Strike would sometimes have a 1-5 stud w/ no ante, and the Grand would sometimes have 2-10 stud (I played it but I can't remember if this game had an ante).

low limit stud caused several dealers to shove sharp sticks in their eyes and/or jump off balconies, that is one reason why it is now hard to find.

It is often played without an Ante to speed up the game in some B&Ms. Honestly the best low-limit Stud games are on the interweb.

The people in those games have to be the grumpiest old dudes I've ever run across in a card room.

High/Low split game players are pretty grumpy, too. Rail (or play) the $15/$30/$45 H/L 2-way at the Taj sometime... you'll hear many a grump berate the dealer constantly.

Those low limit stud games at Taj and Showboat used to be amazingly loose late on Fridays and Saturdays and full of some very colorful people...good times.

Your info about Tunica is still pretty accurate. I was there two weeks ago to play in a WPT Stud Event and played stud cash games at both Horseshoe and Grand. The Horseshoe game is a 1-5 game with a $.25 ante and almost always has one or two tables going. The Grand has a 2-10 game that I played in on a Saturday night. Oddly enough, it started with a $1 ante but after awhile the floor told us we had to play it with no ante. I thought the game would turn into a rock garden after that, but it actually remained a good game with a couple of LAGs rotating in and out. Unfortunately, this game doesn't always go off, as I went back there on two other nights and although there were 3-4 people on the waiting list, the game never got going. Supposedly, there is also usually 1-5 stud being spread at the Gold Strike, but they did not have that game going at all during the four days I was there, but I suspect that was because the demand was so high for Hold Em since they were hosting all of the WPT events and the place was overflowing with gamboolers. At any rate, although I would have much preferred a 10/20 or even a 5/10 game, the 1-5 stud game at the Horseshoe was fun.
