How bad is it to just call his minraise? I personally don't like getting it in with AK preflop..

I think calling is the thing to do unless u wanna fold AK. I dont like getting AI w AK PF unless against a short stack, but even then I wanna raise AI, not call a massive 5bet or whatever it is
